Direct Brands, Inc. continues to lead in the online marketplace with a new platform and individual sites for their over 20 distinct book clubs. This new platform is currently being deployed in phases across all clubs and constitutes a redesign of front-end features and functionality, as well as a completely new shared back-end system. The new sites feature streamlined enrollment and purchase streams for an enhanced customer experience and increased sales, as well as a new service oriented architecture providing lower costs and increased efficiency by leveraging existing e-commerce and fulfillment systems, while still providing flexibility for future growth and improvement.
Throughout the course of development for this new platform, Direct Brands, Inc. has relied on Boyle Software for both front and back-end developers, as well as project managers, to assist with the many managerial and technical aspects of this complex project. The technologies involved include leading third-party components such as ATG’s Commerce Suite and IMB’s Websphere Application Server, as well as many in house systems and services developed primarily in Java and .Net.
