I had the good fortune of being in Charleston, South Carolina for the solar eclipse yesterday. Charleston was on the path of totality, the area on earth where the moon completely blocked the sun.
The weather didn’t cooperate completely, as it was partly cloudy with occasional thunderstorms almost the entire day. But in the end it turned out pretty spectacular. We had the eclipse in one hemisphere of the sky, and behind us in the other hemisphere there was thunder and lightning. I managed a couple of good, grainy pictures using just my iPhone, which I’ve included below.
The pictures don’t really do it justice, but overall it was amazing experience.
