AWS pushes into gaming

Amazon Web Services and LumberyardThis week Amazon Web Services made a big push into the world of multiplayer gaming. With the side-by-side releases of Amazon Lumberyard and GameLift, AWS wants to be the one stop that multiplayer AAA game developers need. And what we are seeing is pretty cool!

Lumberyard is described as a “a free, cross-platform, 3D game engine for [developers] to create the highest-quality games, connect [their] games to the vast compute and storage of the AWS Cloud, and engage fans on Twitch.” GameLift is “a managed service for deploying, operating, and scaling session-based multiplayer games” to be used with Lumberyard.
